Electric vehicles are expected to be a game changer for the automotive industry. In the upcoming 5 years, electric vehicles will become a major part of our daily lives. We’re moving towards a technology where you won’t need to plug anything in to charge your car. Just put it in your garage and it’ll charge itself. And when you drive out of the garage, your car will automatically switch over to battery mode. This technology could eliminate the need for charging stations and plugs in parking lots. The system will charge the vehicle’s battery wirelessly, without the use of a cable, or a power outlet.

Recent trials in UK and US are done for this inductive charging technology, similar to the wireless charging process in smartphones and electronic gadgets.

Autonomous Driving

Autonomous driving is the next big thing. Self-driving cars would take our mode of transportation to next level. Many companies are working hard to develop self-driving technology. Google has been testing out its autonomous car since 2009 and an advanced system is expected soon. Companies like Tesla and Ford are developing their autonomous driving systems.

Imagine being able to speak with your friends on the phone, listen to music, watch movies, surf the internet, and sleep while your car drives you to your destination with its intelligent driving control system. The concept of Self-driving vehicles looks like science fiction but now it’s not far away from reality, and it is going to radically change transportation and what it’s like to get from point A to point B.

More than 60 miles of driving could be added with five minutes of charging or 90% of charging for trucks would be possible in 20 to 30 minutes with ultra-fast DC chargers.
